I've been shooting during sunset quite a lot recently, and I'm really loving the colors and hues it gives me. Everything is bathed in this orange glow, creating little halos of light framing faces and illuminating stray strands of hair. These truly are the golden hours.
The images above are self portraits, and besides some contrasting and the black and white effects, they were taken straight out of the camera. I love how the lens flare gives a whole new tone to a boring scenery, but a huge flare can make the face much brighter and less visible, as seen in the first two images.
I also did this really stupid thing where I biked a mile out to where I wanted to take pictures, and as soon as I got there I realized I'd forgotten my remote. All of the images you see were taken with my shitty manual focus or some kind of attempt at using the timer with my camera. It was a struggle, let me tell you.
Hope your summer's been going well, and I'll have many more images up later of a shoot I did with Jenny!
